The Karamitsopoulos family, since 1977, investigated the utilization of natural river reeds, in the context of an organized and systematic production for the creation of reed rolls for shading and fencing.

The historical background of the use of reeds for awnings, windbreaks, knitting baskets but also in combination with mud and clay to create makeshift accommodation or permanent homes, is lost in the depths of the centuries.

Thus, the first company for the collection and manufacture of reeds was founded, inspired by Greek nature and tradition. Aiming to create quality, beautiful, ecological and economical reeds, for their application in shading, fencing or even decoration of private and professional spaces.

In 1990, under the distinctive title "KALAMOPLEKTIKI", and after a thorough research of the international market, the trends in decoration but also the developments in the international - and therefore in the domestic - commercial world, the company decides to make significant investments in its strengthening. introductory activity, with the aim of creating new collaborations in the fields of tropical materials and wicker items for the garden and home. Despite the remarkable rise and progress that will follow, the company maintains intact its primary values ​​for BEAUTY - ECOLOGY - ECONOMY.

After Anna Karamitsopoulou has taken over the management, our company becomes the first - and only for several years - company that creates an ever-expanding range of natural products (and not limited to) shading, fencing and in general constructions and decorations of outdoor spaces. Having the maturity and the necessary organizational background, the company begins to develop export activity in Cyprus and Balkan countries.

By 2004, the continuous growth of the company creates the need to consolidate and expand its warehouses. Thus, it is transferred to central warehouses in Megara, Attica, while at the same time it creates retail branches in Peristeri and Afidnes. In recent years, the main warehouses have been moved to Koropi, forming a standard, large wholesale and retail unit, while the ECOSHADOW retail store now operates in Agios Dimitrios.

The consolidation of the company in the leading position of the most specialized company of reeds, tropical materials and garden items inside and outside the borders, creates in 2013 the need to redesign its corporate identity. The new distinctive title "ECOSHADOW", reflects the path we have served over time, that of ecological shading.
